I’m a professional chef, and provide restaurant-quality dinners (and self-serve breakfast.) The bedroom may be available for longer. If you’re interested, we can discuss when you get here! As per local ordinances, minimum stay is 28 nights. I’ve almost always had a 28-night minimum in my previous house in Boston, as I’m operating this as a homestay in my home, not a short-term rental like a hotel. Please make sure to read my description and rules to understand that you’re sharing my home. LQBTQ welcome. Please note, there is no TV, but of course there’s wi-fi :)
Near Eckerd College and USF St Pete. Everything is a short drive or bike ride away: stores, beaches, parks, tourist attractions, schools. I intend to get a bicycle to continue exploring, and will appreciate the lack of hills as my Boston house was at the top of one of highest hills around.
Many restaurants nearby: Sushi, Dim Sum, other Asian, Italian and shops: Publix, Winn-Dixie, Walmart, CVS, Target and, as they say, much much more 9 minutes to downtown St. Pete 12 minutes to St. Pete Beach 9 minutes to Pass-a-Grille Beach 6 minutes to Maximo Park 9 minutes to Dalí Museum and Chihuly Collection 9 minutes to Tropicana Field 30 minutes to St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport 11 minutes to St. Pete Pier 40 minutes to Tampa 40 minutes to Tampa International Airport
I don’t know a lot about public transit as I have a car, so look on Google Maps or ask me if you’re planning to come without a car.
I give guests a set of printed guidelines, which include emergency information, and cover basics like: • Dinner is between 7:00 and 8:00 pm. If you won’t be home for dinner, I ask you to notify me the night before. For weekend meals, I put out a sign-up sheet so I can plan meals. • Please get permission before bringing any guests home. Sleepovers are not allowed. • Guests help with dinner: set table and wash dishes. They clean up after their breakfast: wash dishes, wipe counter & table. • Guests clean their own room and their private bathroom.
A non-negotiable item is: Absolutely No Smokers or users of fragrance. I’m very allergic, and do not want to smell smoke on guests’ clothes, hair, etc. Also, please do not use fragrances—cologne, hair products and shampoo—as they make me cough and sneeze.
